Both school buildings have many similarities in using a lot of glass window curtain walls, dynamic jut outs and cantilevered spaces, and the use of green design. Large spacious courtyards, green roofs, using recycled materials, and maximizing natural daylight. Both have high ceilings the spaces are very open. They are both very nice and designed school buildings.

I enjoyed reading about both of these school buildings. Both schools applied a lot of glass and color throughout the design, which is very interesting to see. I also enjoyed the cantilevered spaces. It is great how the design extends beyond the main exterior walls. Both schools have open spaces and high ceilings which is very refreshing and different from the norm. These schools are great inspiration for our studio school designs.

The design of both of these schools is similar. They use a creative mix of positive and negative space to give both an interesting exterior and interior. Both designs use a creative mix of natural and artificial light. These highlight the unique features of both buildings. The irregular classrooms in each design are a great way to break out of the traditional classroom mold of a square room with minimal windows. The curtain walls extend the spaces beyond just their physical limitations, giving each space huge potential. These schools represent what all educational facilities should look like in the future.

I found the County Elementary school in china to be playful in it's architecture as well as it's use of color. The push and pull of spaces is visually interesting, although i wonder if it may be confusing for children to have such vast open spaces with little use of way-finding.

I liked the use of color in the school in Japan. This building is also similar to our school. We have a lot of glazing and bump out that have been kind of difficult to work with.

I really liked the school in Tianjin, China. They did a really good job using color to energize the spaces. Both schools used a lot of glass allowing a great deal of natural light to be incorporated into the design, which also created a more spacious environment. Also I liked the irregular shaped classrooms which gives children a different experience in each space.

Use of color and light in County Elementary School is particularly interesting. Exterior screens provide an architectural dynamic that supports transparency. Also, the reflective nature of the color panels provides a fun, minimalist aesthetic with inspiring reflective qualities.

I liked how County Elementary was a standard profile of a building (a long rectangle) and the architects were able to break up and engage the space for children. The bright colors and the interesting layouts provided interest no matter their location. Even moving through the space becomes interesting and has a new view.

Looking at the two schools I am inspired by the freshness of all the natural lighting and connection between spaces. You. can actually get the sence that you are apart of the bigger picture just by being in each of the spaces because your always aware of your envrionment rather then being closed off. The fbirst school used contrast g between colors and natural lightin to create direction and intrest. Very inspirational!
