I've never really thought about leadership in this way before. I believe that it does take an equal amount of leadership to support someone in their idea/belief and then spread the news around to your personal network of colleagues/peers. I can see this type of leadership already beginning to form in our new joint studio environment. We've all got ideas, that's why we're designers; it just takes one other person to support the idea to get to ball in motion.
